It looked incredible online. It felt like a towel by week two.
Like a lot of people, we bought one of the "viral" deer print blankets everyone's feed was full of last fall. It showed up looking exactly like the video — thick, dappled, impossibly soft in the thumbnail.
Three washes later, it was flat. It shed on the couch. It ran warm on one side and strangely damp on the other. We weren't the only ones — the reviews on every version of that blanket said some version of the same thing, buried under five-star ratings that clearly hadn't lived with it past the first week.
We took six of them apart to find out why.
Every one of them turned out to be built the same way: a single layer of faux fur pile, glued straight onto a thin backing. Nothing holding the loft in place, nothing between you and the backing but glue. That's why they go flat — there's nothing structural inside them to begin with.
So we built something with an actual structure. FawnLoft™ is a three-layer construction: a dense, dappled fur face; an inner bonding layer that holds the loft and keeps the whole thing from separating over time; and a plush sherpa base that stays breathable instead of clammy. It's a small difference on paper. It's the entire reason a Thicket blanket still feels new in March.
Build the thing properly. Let the season do the rest.
We're not trying to make a hundred products. We're trying to make the few we do sell worth still owning next year. That means real construction over viral speed, and it means writing product pages that tell you exactly what's inside instead of what a trend wants you to believe.
